Miki earned her B.F.A. in Animation with a concentration in Video Game Design from Maryland Institute College of Art. Miki has built and showcased her games at various shows around the country. She has worked with a number of clients to illustrate and animate projects. Miki has significant experience teaching middle school students how to create art using code and technology. She has built numerous lesson both independently and as part of our curriculum development team.
Connor earned B.S. degrees in Theoretical Physics, Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from Loyola University Chicago. He then went on to earn his M.S in Mathematics from Loyola University of Chicago. While at Loyola, Connor served as a graduate teaching assistant for Intro to Ordinary Differential Equations and helped facilitate Physics Lab. Connor is proficient in Python, R, Mathematica and has a working knowledge of C++, Matlab and Java. Connor is passionate about the mathematical aspects of technology development and has been able to inspire the same interest in students through a range of math-imbued projects that he has developed for Digital Adventures students.
Caroline received her B.S. in Computer Science from Knox College. Caroline is proficient in Java, C, Python, HTML, CSS, Ruby, Prolog, Assembly, Object-Oriented Programming & Agile Methodologies. At Knox, she served as President of her sorority, Alpha Sigma Alpha, and participated in a variety of computer science challenges and game design projects. Caroline is an experienced camp counselor and has worked with large groups of elementary school students as well as provided one-on-one support to students with diverse learning needs. Caroline is not only an incredible educator and guide to our students, but also serves as an invaluable member of our curriculum development team.
Jim earned his B.F.A in Time Arts from Northern Illinois University. While at Digital Adventures, he has developed a comprehensive project library of over 500 lessons on a variety of technical subjects & taught thousands of students how to build with technology.
Arjun earned B.S. degrees in Industrial Engineering & Psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, an M.A. in Education from Northwestern, and an M.B.A from University of Chicago's Booth School of Business. His master's thesis focused on teaching troubleshooting to students in technical domains. He's taught technology and developed curricula for a wide variety of audiences, helping 1st graders through M.B.A students make their ideas real with technology. He has also developed and led teacher training programs for The Starter League coding bootcamp, Chicago Public Schools, the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), and the Noble Network of Charter Schools. Arjun is particularly interested in the design of technology to support technical instruction and he has developed the software systems used in Digital Adventures classes.
Omowale earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, and his M.B.A from Harvard Business School. While at University of Illinois, Omowale served as an Engineering Learning Assistant for a required Introductory Course in the College of Engineering. Omowale has over 10 years of real-world product development and management experience with a range of local startups like Redbox to Fortune 500 companies like Ford & GE.
As a father of three, he is passionate about making sure the next generation is equipped to change the world when they grow up. Since technology is so embedded in modern society, he wants to make technology education more accessible and equitable for all kids so they grow up to be creators and not just consumers.
